Island, The (1980)

The Island stars Academy Award winner Michael Caine as Blair Maynard, an investigative writer who tracks down one of the most baffling mysteries - the disappearance of pleasure crafts and its passengers in the Caribbean. During his investigation, he and his son are captured by raiding pirates who need his services to help improve their degenerated gene pool. When his son is converted to the pirates' barbarian ways and turns against him, Blair must come to his rescue in this action-packed super thriller written by Peter Benchley (Jaws).
